BFuel Canada Corp Advisory Board

BFuel Canada Corp has established an Advisory Board, engaging individuals in the local community with varied expertise and knowledge that will help steer the direction of the project to the best resources and benefits for the local and surrounding communities of southern Alberta.

The Advisory Board is not a decision making body but provides advice to the BFuel Canada Board of Directors. The Advisory Board will invite local persons with expertise in areas to be advised on, to Committee meetings. Term of Advisory members is 6 months with extension if mutually agreed on.

LeRoy Fjordbotten - Advisory Board Chairman
Resident of Claresholm, owned and operated his own farm for over 40 years, elected to the Alberta Legislative Assembly March 14, 1979, appointed to the Agricultural Research Council; re-elected in 1982, appointed Minister of Agriculture; re-elected 1986, appointed Minister of Tourism; 1987, appointed Minister of forestry, Lands and Wildlife. Re-elected 1989, re-appointed Minister of Forestry, Lands and Wildlife. Chairman of Board: AGCAT (Alberta Grain and Oil Seed Crisis Advocacy Trust).


Ben Walter - Vice-Chairman
Owner of B & D Walter Trucking Ltd., based in Lethbridge, Alberta. A locally owned and operated business specializing in the transport of grain, fertilizer, cattle, and refrigerated materials. His firm specializes in the transportation of goods between the Canadian provinces of Alberta, British Columbia, Saskatchewan, Manitoba and the north-western United States.


Larry McNamara
Recently retired president and CEO of Canbra Foods Ltd. Lethbridge, is the President of Associated Proteins Ltd. in Ste Agathe, Manitoba. Associated is the world's largest solvent free, oilseed crushing plant, with a daily crush capacity of 1000 MT of canola, producing 350 MT of oil and 650 MT of high energy oil cake/canola meal. In his capacity as President and CEO of Canbra Foods Larry enhanced their sales from $160M in 1991 to $230 M by 1999. Larry also introduced a Capital Plan of $40M taking Canbra Foods production capacity from 750 metric tonnes per day up to 1,200 metric tonnes per day. Larry has over 20 years of knowledge in the crushing and feed stock contracting aspects of the industry.


Brent Morris
President, Gas King Oil Co. Brent is president of the independently owned and operated chain of gas stations known as GasKing. Gas King Oil Co. was established in 1985 in southern Alberta, and has grown to be one of the largest independents to provide retail gas and related services to the city of Lethbridge and surrounding communities. Sales have increased each year as successful marketing plans have been developed and new employee and customer service programs are implemented. Gas King was recently awarded the Retail Business of the Year (city of Lethbridge) as well as the prestigious Dalton Jordon Memorial Award for Business Excellence.


Rob Southwell, P.Ag.
Manager - Canola Seed Processing Bayer CropScience, Lethbridge, Alberta. Previously, Site Services Manager; Black Velvet Distilling Company, Lethbridge. In addition to his skills managing the daily operations of alcohol (ethanol) production, Rob has a diversity of experiences related to BFuel's interests: Project management experience, Operations management, Financial Planning Manager (Frito-Lay, Lethbridge). Rob is also a member of the Alberta Institute of Agrologists.


Corny VanDasselaar
Corny VanDasselaar is the managing partner of Benchmark Seeds (Alberta) Ltd. which serves southern Alberta. Benchmark is the sales agent for Pioneer Hi-Bred, Canada's leading agricultural crop genetics company, selling corn, canola, sunflower and forage seed. Corny has been involved in seed sales since 1998 and has experience in sales and technical support in the feed industry for the previous ten years. Corny has served on the Southern Applied Research Association board and the Alberta Corn Committee for many years.


Abe Wieler
Owner of Integrity Grain Marketing Services in Lethbridge. Abe through his company educates grain producers in setting up marketing plans, cash flow, and finding marketing opportunities to meet the producer's goals. Abe has over 20 years of experience in the grain industry in operations, sales and successfully managing an inland grain terminal and crop input center in Lethbridge. During that time Abe was responsible for a staff of 15 to 20 people. His management skills include environmental, health & safety programs, preparing and managing budgets, and day to day operations.
