Delerith E. Allen
President, D.A. Electric Ltd
After 13 years of oilfield experience, "Del" founded D.A. Electric Ltd (DA) in Lethbridge Alberta in March 1975. Today, DA employs over 75 full time staff offering clients a full turn-key solution including complete construction, electrical design and installations. D.A. Electric, an ISO 9000 company, has completed projects across Canada and is one of the founding members of the Alberta Electrical and Instrumentation Contractors Association representing over seven thousand electrical workers.
Del & D.A. Electric has increasingly become involved in the renewable energy sector and is a member of the Canadian wind energy association.
Del was awarded Lethbridge Citizen of the Year for 2008 in appreciation for his work with groups as diverse as the Boys and Girls Club, the Third Academy, the Lethbridge Food Bank, the Royal Canadian Legion, Ducks Unlimited, the Lethbridge College and the City's Bright Lights Committee. Del's most recent community achievement was organizing the lighting of the historical CP High Level Bridge to celebrate its Centennial.
Derek Stimson
President, Rocky Mountain Dealerships Inc
Mr. Derek Stimson has been involved in the agriculture equipment industry for over 45 years. In 1979 Derek Stimson acquired Hi-Way Service Inc. and has since grown the business to form the public company of Rocky Mountain Dealerships Inc., which is Canada's largest agriculture equipment dealership. Hi-Way Service Ltd. still operates the agriculture division throughout Alberta. Derek also owns and operates a farm in southern Alberta harvesting over 12,000 acres of cereal grains, oilseed and row crops yearly.
Moritz Gaede
Founder, Partner and Managing Director, AT Agrar-Technik GmbH & Co.KG, Schlaitdorf, Germany
Agrar-Technik is the biodiesel processing equipment supplier for BFuel.
Moritz obtained a diploma in Agricultural Economics and Sciences (Dipl.-Ing agr.) from the Georgia Augusta University, Goettingen, Germany in 1985. From 1983-1984, he conducted field research on the economics of biogas technology, which was implemented in subtropical Africa.
In 1996, he started a biodiesel business as Managing Partner with the engineering company AT. He was active in the field of engineering and constructing turn-key oil seed crushing and biodiesel facilities. AT also provides technology in the field of glycerol refining, biomass pyrolysis and anaerobic fermentation. In 1998 he founded Campa AG, Ochsenfurt, Germany. As co-owner and CEO of Campa AG he ran from 1998 until 2008 the multinational business: biodiesel trading (250.000.000 litres per year), biodiesel production (180.000.000 litres per year) and oil seed extraction (650.000 tons of canola seed per year). From 2001-2008, Moritz was board member and Vice President of the German Biodiesel Association (VDB, Verband der Deutschen Biokraftstoffindustrie e.V., VDB, Berlin). Moritz Gaede was the second appointed President of the European Biodiesel Board (EBB, Brussels) and began his term in 2003 followed by another term which ended 2008.
Glenn Collick
Glenn is the principal founder and President of BFuel Canada Corp. Glenn has invested nearly a decade of time and resources into the research and development of renewable resources including recycling of tires, wind energy and biofuels. Prior to immersing himself in the renewable energy sector, Glenn was a business executive with 20 years experience structuring, re-structuring, financing and developing public and private companies. He acquired his experience mainly as an investment advisor and entrepreneur involved with mining projects in several countries including: Argentina, Canada, and Mexico. Glenn has also owned and operated his own construction company that focused primarily on the commercial sector.
Ken Fryer
Ken is one of only ten recognized biodiesel BQ 9000 auditors in the world and the only one in Canada. An early adopter of biodiesel, Ken led in the introduction of biodiesel into the British Columbia market while fleet manager at the City of Richmond. Ken has over 20 years experience managing corporate and municipal fleets and was recognized with the Biodiesel Fleet Manager award by the Canadian Renewable Fuels Association in 2005. Ken holds a diesel endorsement issued by the Ontario government and possesses additional credentials in purchasing (CPP) and administrative management systems. In addition to leading 4Refuel's clean air fuels portfolio, Ken is a regular speaker at industry and government conferences on alternative fuels and is a nationally recognized expert and authority on biodiesel.
Don Althen
Don's career has been focused on agriculture, land, and oil & gas development. Don served an 8 year term as Chairman of the Alberta Agriculture Research Institute. Don is a 3rd generation farmer who's grandfather homesteaded in Medicine Hat.
Don has been a member of the International flying farmer and the Alberta Flying Farmers for 51 years, serving as director, vice president, president and convention chair.
Don is currently the President of Althen Drilling Company.
LeRoy Fjordbotten
President – Silverwood Ventures Ltd.
Along with a remarkable political career, LeRoy Fjordbotten has owned and managed Fjordbotten Farms (cattle and grain) for several decades. In1979 LeRoy was elected to the Legislative Assembly of Alberta; re-elected in 1982 and subsequently appointed to the post of Minister of Agriculture. Upon re-election in 1986 LeRoy served as Minister of Tourism and was appointed Minister of Forestry, Lands and Wildlife in September 1987. LeRoy was elected to a fourth term at legislature in 1989 and re-appointed the Minster of Forestry, Lands and Wildlife. LeRoy resigned from public service in 1992.
LeRoy is an Executive Member Alberta Flying Farmers and a member of International flying Farmers, the Canadian Aviation Council Executive member and trustee of the Alberta Grain and Oilseeds Crisis Advocacy Trust.
Ben Walter
President - B&D Walter Trucking Ltd.
Ben is owner of B & D Walter Trucking Ltd. a locally owned and operated business specializing in the transport of grain, fertilizer, and cattle and other agricultural goods between the Canadian provinces of Alberta, British Columbia, Saskatchewan, Manitoba and the northwestern United States.
