BFuel Canada Corp. Mandate
The company is relatively young, as are virtually all companies in Canada that are currently pursuing the production of biofuels. The mission of BFuel Canada Corp. is
"...to increase the profile and use of biodiesel in Canada, with the agricultural producer as an active partner and end user beneficiary."
The short-term mandate of the company will be the development of an oil seed crusher and biodiesel refinery in southern Alberta. Our commitment, principles and unique method of successfully pursuing our goals is now being directly applied to establishing the BFuel Chin Lakes Biodiesel Facility (Chin Lakes) in the County of Lethbridge, Alberta.
Structured as a limited partnership, Chin Lakes will integrate BFuel's renewable energy expertise with regional farmer investment, secure supply agreements with existing biofuels-ready users, and private equity investor participation.
The operation and distribution model will be designed to serve western Canada with a premium grade product for use by larger truck fleets and other diesel engines (i.e. marine).
BFuel has a strong focus on agriculture producers and the management of the company have led and participated in many meetings with farmers in southern Alberta regarding the opportunities for the development of a biodiesel industry in the area.
This focus reflects the company's emphasis on and commitment to landowner partnerships and the collaboration required to ensure a secure supply of feed stocks for production of bio-fuels as well as a market for the end product.
The management and staff at BFuel believe that a commitment to building partnerships and cooperation with landowners and the community is key to the success of the project.
Demonstration of that commitment will be evident through:
- Ongoing participation in the development of the local industry (i.e. clusters)
- Communication and public relation activities that will provide all stakeholders - neighbours, investors, partners and government - with ongoing, current information regarding the project development and accomplishments.
- Timely responses to questions or concern raised by any of the above mentioned stakeholder groups.
