Integrated Seed Crushing and Biodiesel Refinery
The proposed Chin Lakes Biodiesel facility, located in the County of Lethbridge, is being developed to annually produce 40 million litres of premium grade biodiesel.

Facility production statistics:
- Annually requires 132,000 acres of canola
- 4 million bushels or 90,000 tonnes per year of canola seed
- Processing 270 metric tonnes (MT) of seed per day
- Produces 121,000 litres of biodiesel per day
- 40 million litres/year (8.8 million gallons)
- By-products include 50,000 MT of canola meal annually and 6,500 MT of glycerol
- Require approximately 20 staff for 24x7 operating schedule - primarily technicians and chemists
