Agricultural Producer Relationships
BFuel Canada Corp is committed to forming long-term profitable partnerships with area agricultural producers. To achieve that goal, the company conducted a number of open information sessions in southern Alberta during the fall of 2006, to inform and invite producers to participate in the project development process. Producers who attended were asked for their input about crop availability, feedstock supply and local producer support for the project. The producers offered valuable input as well as a strong desire to be involved in the project at more than just a supply capacity. BFuel has continued this relationship by joining with the Southern Alberta Alternative Energy Partnership (SAAEP): The SAAEP represents 37 communities and municipalities in southern Alberta. Acting in partnership the SAAEP and BFuel have been approved for a $300,000 federal grant, the Biofuels Opportunities for Producers Initiative (BOPI), sponsored by an Ag- Canada program designed to partner together farmers and industry.
